A petition sent by the Office of the Auditor-General of Liberia yesterday claims that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) supplied an excess of one million barrels to Liberia in 2009 without remitting the money to the Federal government.

Mr. James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on the Subsidy Regime, submitted the petition that showed that the Liberian government requested for 10,000 barrels of crude but got an excess of 1,000,000 barrels.

The Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mr. Austin Oniwon who appeared before the Ad Hoc Committee on the Subsidy Regime, says he did not know about the petition but promised to investigate the matter.
