Nollywood star actress, Eucharia Anunobi, has been ordained as a pastor at Fresh Oil Ministry International, Egbeda, Lagos.

The ordination of Eucharia, who recently divorced her husband, was performed by Pastor Psalm Okpe, accompanied by other men of God present.

Susan Peters, Clarion Chukwuka were among Eucharia’s colleagues that graced the occasion.

Before her ordination UK Gold, as Eucharia is popularly called by fans, intimated her facebook friends about the occasion. Writing on her facebook page, she said: “Dearly beloved, having been anointed last year, am now being officially ordained with ministerial licence and collar. Giving me the right to carry out episcopal duties as a minister of God under the fold of the ministry as an evangelist. This is happening this morning, Sunday, the 5th of February 2012, at the Fresh Oil Ministry Int’l church. This is really the Lord’s doing and its amazingly wonderful! God is owesome”.

Eucharia’s facebook post was greeted with mixed reactions. While some congratulated and encouraged her for the bold step, others doubted her ability to function as a woman of God.

Reacting to the mixed opinions by her fans, Eucharia yesterday wrote again on her facebook page:

“Yes, I have been officially ordained an EVANGELIST OF THE MOST HIGH GOD, the First out of the house of NOLLYWOOD and am grateful to God for choosing me at this point in my life.

“Regardless of U, U, U or U may think about this, am in this service for GOD and GOD alone.

“I also appreciate my colleagues, family members and friends who came to honour me yesterday(Sunday).

“Words cannot encapsulate what is in my heart to utter.

“God bless u all for believing in me and I will not let u down”

Eucharia also posted pictures of her ordination on facebook.

Eucharia will not be the first in Nollywood to have moved from professional acting to being a woman of God.

Those who have made similar decisions in the past is Liz Benson, who is now a minister of God.

Pat Attah, is also reported to be winning souls for God in far away Germany.
