30 dead in attack on Kano market: medic, witness

According to news reports reaching us, we gather that suspected Boko Haram Islamists on Monday opened fire and set off bombs at a market in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, killing at least 30 people, a witness and a medical source said.


"It's true the number of dead could not be less than 30," a Maiduguri hospital nurse told AFP. A witness gave a similar death toll.
